| The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) is an Australian Government Department that operates a Contact Centre from the Australian High Commission in Ottawa. The Contact Centre is a busy office that provides client enquiry services in relation to permanent and temporary visas and Australian citizenship services to North, South and Central America, Bermuda, the Caribbean, France and Portugal. Enquiry services are provided by telephone and email, in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. The Department is seeking people who want to be part of building an organisation that is open, client focused, and committed to excellence. The Client Service Officer position is a key contact level position, providing quality information services to clients and a range of stakeholders. The Contact Centre is a demanding, high-output and client-focused contact centre environment. As well as responding to client telephone and email enquiries about visa and citizenship requirements for Australia, you will also be expected to assist with preparation of correspondence and other documentation; liaise with clients of diverse backgrounds, their families and advisors and with other DIAC offices in Australia and overseas. Functions and tasks are distributed among the positions at this level in the interest of organisational flexibility and supporting staff development. The Client Service Officer will work in a team environment and assist other team members where applicable. Initiative and cooperation are required to ensure a harmonious and effective working environment. The Client Service Officer is accountable to the Contact Centre Training Supervisor and Contact Centre Services Supervisor who report to the Second Secretary, Immigration. | |
