REQUEST FOR LETTER OF INTENT: Baseline Data Review and Analysis Consultant We are looking for an individual who is comfortable working with and interpreting statistics. The individual will have a capacity to identify discrete quantitative efficiencies and effective activities from qualitative situations. The ideal consultant will be able to creatively interpret existing quantitative data to identify new questions. They will assist with very simple methodologies for answering those questions. The consultant will work with the project coordinator, community leaders, and project partners. The work will include exploring cost-benefit analysis of seniors’ recreational programs and activities and comparing and contrasting such programs and activities. Such programs may be formal or community based. This information will be based on data collected from: 1. Interviews and outreach regarding per capita cost expenditures, outreach models and best practices 2. Existing data, public budgets (municipal, provincial, federal), and academic literature concerning seniors health and recreation. In addition to the data report and project summary, the selected consultant will assist with documents and presentation for a conference June 4 2011, providing information to stakeholders, and facilitating discussion and next steps that would lead to improved data, reporting and quality of service. It is expected that the consultant assists with the designing and the implementation of a process that will: a) Collect and review data/ services existing for seniors b) Write a report including a summary of the context and project steps, review of resources available to community groups and organizations, summary of results, conclusions based on the results, and recommendations/next steps for quality improvement (appendices will include the data collection tools used and raw data resulting from the tools).
