| Supply Chain Business Analyst The role of the Logistics Supply Chain Business Analyst is to work with the Business Logistics Team and new or potential clients to capture current business information/ data and set benchmarks through understanding the processes and systems. The Logistics Supply Chain Business Analyst performs analysis to discover improvements and solutions to various areas of the supply chain. The role also assumes effective data analysis for accounts as assigned, including pre-processing the data, designing the reports and compiling the results through summaries, audits, cost comparisons, and identifying other potential savings. Duties and Responsibilities • Research customers to understand the history, nuances and “drivers” to their business. • Request receipt of the correct data in the most efficient manner possible. • Pre-process and filter the data, check for inconsistencies and perform analysis. Repair/ advise on corrupted data. • Analyze trends in client data and identify opportunities to maximize profit, minimize costs, recommend value-added business solutions and determine potential areas for improvement and growth. (This will be done through utilization of various tools at our disposal including outside resources if need be.) • Identify new and ongoing customer-reporting requirements, manipulate data and compile the results to generate various dynamic performance and management reports. • Perform analysis on carrier data by conducting audits, investigating further when required and generating detailed reports. • Provide internal business analysis to improve company visibility and profitability • Participate and give analytical input to members of Sales and Operations to create customized reports. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Industry • Undergraduate degree / diploma in Business, Engineering, Statistical Analysis or a related area. • C.I.T.T. and P. Log. are assets. • Possess a minimum 3 years experience in performing data or supply chain analysis. • General understanding of the North American transportation industry including highway (domestic and cross boarder), intermodal and logistics. • Manufacturing resource planning, scheduling or supply-chain exposure is an asset. Technical Knowledge • Highly proficient / advanced working knowledge in Microsoft Office (ie: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Powerpoint) • Advanced working knowledge of spreadsheet and relation database application software especially Access. • Working knowledge of other Microsoft products including Visio, MapPoint and Project. • Visual Basic / programming skills are an asset. • Experience with logistics optimization tools (CAST) is a definite asset. • Working knowledge of TMS systems is an asset i.e. TMW, Maddox, Freight Logix, Logility and / or WMS Systems i.e. Red Prairie Catalyst, Maves. Business Strategy Skills • Analytical and detail-oriented. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written, oral and presentation form. • Goal-oriented. Able to set schedules, prioritize and meet deadlines while handling multiple projects. | |
