| Mechanical/Electrical Engineer Golder Paste Technology Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Golder Associates Ltd., an employee owned multi-disciplinary consultancy company with over 5,000 employees and 120 offices worldwide. This vast resource is combined with our EPCM group and allows us to provide specialized innovative, cost-effective and reliable paste backfill, paste surface tailings disposal and water treatment consulting engineering that is unsurpassed in the industry. Golder PasteTec is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer. This position will be responsible for the delivery of technically challenging conceptual, feasibility and detailed engineering projects primarily in the mining industry. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: •Perform conceptual, feasibility, detailed engineering plant design work; •Write and review project proposals and reports; •Manage projects and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams for the purpose of completing engineering design work; and •Interface with clients at site visits and meetings. •Responsible for project deliverables and client satisfaction; •Participate in Golder’s Health & Safety program and monitor the Health & Safety performance of subcontractors; and •Travel both locally and internationally to remote sites. Preferred candidates will possess the following: •Minimum of B.Sc. in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; •Current status as (or eligibility for) Professional Engineer; •Ten plus years of relevant Engineering Procurement & Construction Management (EPCM) experience in a mining environment; •Proven project management experience, including experience as a consulting engineer in the performance of conceptual, feasibility and detailed engineering; •Exceptional leadership skills, problem solving abilities and strong capabilities in planning, organizing and progress control; •Ability to build consensus within project teams to ensure positive results; •Construction and commissioning field experience; •Experience as liaison with Client and Consultants, suppliers and subcontractors; •Coordinate with other disciplines and other groups with Golder Associates; •Knowledge of standard project management software (Word, Excel, Access, MSProject, Estimating software, etc.); •Excellent written and verbal communication skills; •Valid driver’s license and passport; and •Be well versed in contractual agreements, risk assessment and general contractor Health & Safety requirements; •Be available for business travel and extended working hours when required; and •Be a team player with strong people skills, including mentoring of junior staff. | |
