The Senior Metallurgist, Mills, Tailings and Water Plants is a direct output support role that has been developed to provide Plant Management with expertise in Metallurgy. The primary purpose of this role is to provide metallurgical specialist support to the Superintendent, Process Technology in a fashion that will enable the Mill to meet production targets. Main responsibilities are to support Plant Management in improving metallurgical performance through analysis of plant data, managing laboratory, pilot plant and plant test programs, and by applying specialized knowledge and industry best practices. This is achieved by direct input and by coordinating the work of the team members reporting to the section leader.

As the successful candidate, you will join the Process Technology Department at the Company’s 40,000 ton per day Clarabelle Mill. The mill operates crushers, SAG mill, rod and ball mills, magnetic separation and flotation. This role includes the technical aspects of tailings disposal and water treatment plants.

The role fosters a climate of safety, mutual trust and respect among all members of his/her team. The Senior Metallurgist collaborates cross-functionally to assist in providing technical expertise in the area of Process Metallurgy to Plant Management, as well as cross-functionally across all other areas of the Division.

This role adds value by providing the technical knowledge and expertise on Process Metallurgy.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 10 years technical experience including supervision

Must have crushing and grinding or flotation experience in base metals

Educational Requirements:
University Degree in Extractive Metallurgy, Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
