We are currently looking for competent Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians/Mechanics. Availability to work on rotating shifts in mines that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week is essential. Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians/Mechanics diagnose, repair, overhaul and maintain hydraulic, electro-hydraulic and electric equipment used in mining activities Required Skills: • Experience with maintenance of power transmission/torque converter systems on large diesel equipment • Experience with braking systems on large mobile equipment • Experience with maintenance of hydraulics systems on mobile equipment • Experience with differentials and mechanical transmissions • Experience with air and liquid-cooled, CPU-controlled diesel engines • Experience up to 24VDC wiring/control systems • Experience with remote control devices Preferred Skills: • Welding experience (CWB - 4GF, mild steel) Educational Requirements: • HS Diploma or equivalent • Certificate of Qualification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic • Certificate of Apprenticeship as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic At Vale Inco, we are looking for candidates who meet a specific and unique skill set.
