Instrument Mechanic

We are currently looking for Instrument Mechanics who are able to work with minimal supervision, outdoors as needed and at elevations. You will install, calibrate, configure, maintain, service, test, troubleshoot, analyze and upgrade measuring and control devices and systems.

Industrial Instrument Mechanics are needed to work on rotating shifts in mines and processing plants that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Required Skills:
• Experienced at installation, repair and adjustment of electronic and pneumatic devices.
• Knowledge of flow, temperature, pressure, level measurement and control.
• Experienced at installing, calibrating, maintaining, servicing and troubleshooting, analyzing and upgrading measuring and control devices and systems.
• Experience with instruments such as transmitters, sensors, detectors, signal conditioners, recorders, controllers and final control elements including various types of auto valves.
• Experience with micro-processing instruments and computer based interface systems such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems.
• Experienced at installing, calibrating, maintaining, servicing and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation to monitor and control emissions.

Preferred Skills
• Experience with computers used in industry for diagnostics, calibration, programming and documentation such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems and with Smart transmitters and valves.

Educational Requirements:
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• A Diploma as an Instrumentation Technologist, or equivalent, along with significant relevant experience.
• Instrument and Control Technician Certificate of Apprenticeship (preferred)
• Instrument and Control Technician Certificate of Qualification (preferred)
