| ATIP Officer Our government client Canadian Border Service Agency is currently looking for a temporary ATIP Officer. Requirements • Bilingual • Secret security clearance • Minimum of (5) years experience in processing of Access to Information and Privacy requests. • Experience with Immigration cases. • 2 years experience delivering ATIP training. Duties • Interpret simple and complex records, • Identify information relevant to third parties, • Undertake consultations, • Apply exemptions, • Obtain consent (when appropriate), • Prepare related analytical and file notes and correspondence and • Offer policy advice related to ATIP, • Deliver training. • Identify the information that may be disclosed or subject to legislated exemptions to ensure that the disclosure of information is in compliance with legal requirements; • Lead consultations with other government agencies and third parties (program partners) concerning perceived risks that may be associated with the release of information found in CBSA files (that may have originated from those program partners); • Write memoranda and correspondences pertaining to the processing of Access to Information and Privacy Act requests; and • If required, explain the Agency’s position in order to satisfy the investigation on the correctness of the action taken by the Agency, and negotiate a solution that the Information and/or Privacy Commissioners of Canada, and the Agency deem satisfactory to resolve the complaint.
