| Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer The application of engineering quality standards is critical to the success of projects. The Engineering Services within Vale Inco's Business Development Group (BDG) provides technical support for all phases of Major Capital Projects including the study, execution, commissioning and startup. These services include engineering input/overview at the early phases of project studies, quality of deliverables at tender stages and overview the engineering process throughout the life cycle of projects to ensure compliance with Vale Inco Engineering and Project Delivery System (PDS) standards. The Engineer will be part of a group of 8 to 10 discipline engineers and to ensure that adequate technical support and due diligence is provided on a current pipeline of projects of approximately $15 Billion. You will build on your previous Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering experience while providing technical expertise to projects involving the electrical instrumentation and control of systems. You will also be responsible for coordinating with outside vendors to ensure that instrumentation is supplied in accordance with project specifications. Position Requirements: Must understand the Electrical and Instrumentation engineering process through all life cycles of a project. Needs to understand the basic technical principles of these disciplines as they apply to mining including underground and surface infrastructures. Must understand the EPCM and EPC contracting process. Must have knowledge of Instrumentation calculations and fundamental principals - control valve sizing, flow compensation, level. Must be able to understand, review and complete the following documentation: Design Requirements, Design Manuals, Design Plans, Bills of Materials, various kinds of Design Lists, Design Calculations, Technical Specifications, EQ reports, System Classification lists, Material Requests, Engineering Quotation Requests, Technical Evaluations and Recommendations to Purchase, and Operations Flow sheet mark-ups. Educational/Experience Requirements: B.S. Electrical Engineering with Instrumentation credentials Experience: Ideal: 10 years design on Mining projects Minimum: 5 years in heavy industry design with Instrumentation experience License/Professional Requirements: Professional Electrical Engineer | |
