Pyrometallurgical Engineer

The Pyrometallurgical Engineer will represent the Business Development Group on the technical review of all phases of project development from initial study to operational ramp-up. This will include evaluation of the recommended process in terms of design and equipment, detail design execution planning, commissioning and start-up plans.

The Engineer will be part of a group of 8 to 10 discipline engineers who ensure that adequate technical support and due diligence is provided on a current pipeline of projects of approximately $15 Billion.

Position Requirements:
• Must understand the various Pyrometallurgical processes and related equipment along with the execution of engineering for the design, construction, start-up and operation of the facility.
• Familiar with the environmental issues governing these facilities and the impact on equipment and process selection including gas and particulate cleaning plants.
• Must be familiar with the EPCM concept of executing major projects.
• Must have experience in evaluating technical proposals in terms of designs and equipment selection related to the Pyrometallurgical and related processes.



Educational/Experience Requirements:
• BSc, BASc or BEng in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or Metallurgy

License/Professional Requirements:
• Eligibility or membership in PEO
• 10 years direct Pyrometallurgical design or operations on nickel and copper smelters
OR
• 10 years Pyrometallurgical design or operation in base metal
