| Chief Mine Engineer In this role you are the designated project manager for capital plans, coordinating that reserves are developed, mined and filled to allow for the continuity of mining processes with the objective of realizing the mine’s capability and efficiency. The CME recommends corrective actions based on monitoring the conditions that could adversely affect or exceed the scheduled development and production targets. Additionally, the focus of this role is to build an effective team. To do so, the CME role must plan and establish targets/standards, schedule resources, assign the work with targeted completion times up to 12 months (this entails detailing out the tasks for completion on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, engaging his subordinates in the process), monitoring team activities, and making effective use of resources to achieve the pre-defined mining plan. Position Requirements: excellent communication and interpersonal skills an aptitude for mathematics and science (especially chemistry and physics) the ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings the ability to be decisive the adaptability required to apply themselves to a variety of work situations. the incumbent should enjoy being innovative, doing work that requires precision, making decisions and supervising others. Educational/Experience Requirements: BSc Engineering 10 years experience or equivalent License/Professional Requirements: P. Eng. or eligible for P. Eng. status in Ontario.
