| Project Manager- Youth & Financial Services EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY June 2010 MEDA invites applications for a full-time permanent Project Manager for Youth & Financial Services. MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates) is an association of compassionate business women and men who invest in people living in poverty around the world so they can unleash their potential to earn a livelihood to provide for their families and enrich their communities. Project Manager - Youth & Financial Services The Project Manager will have primary responsibility for managing donor projects related to youth and financial services. Specific duties will include preparing plans and budgets, overseeing project implementation, submitting financial and narrative reports and managing effective donor relationships. In addition, the Project Manager will also deliver short term consulting assignments, develop new projects, and cultivate new and existing clients and donors. This is a full time permanent position, and can be based in either Waterloo, Canada or Washington DC. Regular travel to North Africa and other locations is required. Ideal start date is August 2010. Qualifications: • University degree, ideally a Masters, in Business, International Economic Development or related field. • Proven track record of at least five (5) years experience in project management and delivering consulting services in one or more of the following areas: youth programming, sustainable livelihoods, microfinance, etc. • Ideally two (2) years management experience in overseas location. • Strong understanding of bi- and multi- lateral government agencies, donors, non-governmental organizations and other development agencies. • Excellent skills in building relationships, networking and interpersonal communication. • French proficiency is required. . • Willingness to undertake extensive international travel. • Appreciation and support of MEDA’s faith, values and goals. | |
