Senior System Tester Job Summary: Reporting to the Test / QA Manager, the Senior System Tester will be responsible for all aspects of software test planning, preparation, execution, and reporting on the testing activities for assigned projects. Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate must be able to: • Analyze stakeholder requirements and software requirements • Define the scope of testing within the context of each release / delivery • Deploy and manage the appropriate testing framework to meet the testing mandate • Plan deploy, and manage the testing effort for any given engagement / release • Generate high quality test documentation such as Master Test Plan and Strategy, High Level Test Specifications, Test Cases, and test effort estimates • Ensure that all test activities are executed on time and report results as per defined metrics • Lead the test project from start till the end • Supervise the team of testers and coordinate the project test activities between different stakeholders • Review, track and report the defects through resolution Qualifications and Skills: Candidate should be experienced in: • Testing enterprise level transactional software (financial sector preferred), using SQL Databases, .NET applications, Web UI and Reporting Services • Generating and executing structured test plans at the integration and system level • Hands-on Test Lead experience • Use of defect tracking system(s): IBM ClearQuest • Experience in ClearCase • Experience in DOORS is an asset • 7+ years of software testing experience • 3+ years of Test Lead Experience comprising o Leadership of test teams through all phases of the SDLC o Experience and understanding of SQL, web and client/server applications, and associated computer hardware. o Prior experience of using defect tracking tools, test management tools, scripting for test automation o Experience in functional testing techniques including integration, system and regression testing; practical knowledge of load and stress testing; practical knowledge of automation test strategy o Thorough understanding of the full software development lifecycle. o Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, ability for multitasking o Excellent ability to communicate and work effectively with other team members in a multicultural and international environment o Knowledge of financial software systems a strong plus • BS degree in science, engineering or technical subjects. • Experience in CMMI level 3 process requirements development • Test Engineer Certification (CSTE, ISTQB) is a definite asset. Key duties for Senior Software/System Tester include: • Participate in scoping test efforts based on user requirements • Generate comprehensive test plans, including use cases and test schedules for complex transactional software suite • Execute test plans and document test results thoroughly to ensure efficient fault analysis • Work actively with the development team regarding new software, bug fixes, upgrades and deployments • Apply Automation and scripting to maximize testing efficiency and coverage • Work with team members and developers to help capture and transform customer requirements into test specifications, develop test plans and test-cases, diagnose defects, etc. • Use risk-based analysis to identify vulnerable areas of the software. • Take a creative approach to uncovering software faults, tracking defect reports through to conclusion • Document and report progress on problem resolution to management, act as an information resource about assigned technical areas to others. Preferred Additional Skills: • Test Environment configuration • Testing interfaces between several systems • Experience of transaction processing software for financial institutions systems • Knowledge of German language a plus
