Street Maintenance Staff/Downtown Ambassadors Reporting to the Member Services Coordinator, and working in a private sector environment, the Street Maintenance Staff/Downtown Ambassadors provide varied street maintenance and beautification support with minimal supervision, to the Downtown Kingston! Business Improvement Area. KEY RESPONSIBILITES 1. Working with the support of Downtown Kingston! staff to liaise and assist with City Staff in maintaining a clean and safe environment for downtown patrons including hand sidewalk sweeping, hand gutter clearing, poster removal, etc. in the designated downtown. 2. Assisting the City with removal of garbage from downtown garbage receptacles. 3. Removal of graffiti. 4. Act as Street Ambassadors to downtown patrons and businesses. 5. Support to events/general deliveries. 6. Other duties as assigned. The Street Maintenance Crew Members are required to perform physical work outdoors 40 hours per week, involving a flexible schedule which includes hours of operation, 7 (seven) days per week, as required. These are summer positions – May to August 31 Competencies and Skills Required • College/university background • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service • Minor handy-person skills, generalist skills • An outgoing personality, likes outdoors and is in good physical health • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
