FULL-TIME PERMANENT ASSISTANT WAREHOUSE OPERATOR Responsibilities General: * Ensure stock is rotated efficiently * Provide guidance to volunteers * Assist in the training of volunteers * Ensure volunteers follow Food Safety and Handling guidelines set out by Health Canada * Perform other duties as assigned * Heavy lifting may be required Housekeeping: * Ensure warehouse equipment is clean and in proper working order and issue a maintenance request when repairs are required. * Ensure the warehouse is cleaned on a regular basis * Ensure all areas of the warehouse are clean and free of debris * Ensure product is stored in a secure manner * Report any unsafe situations or practices Shipping and Receiving: * Ensure all received product is stored appropriately and documented * Ensure all out-going shipments are complete and documented appropriately * Ensure all shipments are properly stored until shipped Agency Orders: * Ensure orders are approved * Pick Agency orders * Ensure orders are of good quality Qualifications * Minimum of 2 years experience in a warehouse environment * Familiarity with MS office 2007 * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and meet deadlines * Excellent organizational skills * Excellent interpersonal and people skills * Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times * Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment * Ability to work within a flexible schedule, including Wednesday evenings and occasional weekends * Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing scenarios * Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team * Must have a minimum class D license * Preferred Reach Truck license, and or fork lift permit.
