| Administrator THE POSITION: • To administrate through a resident-centred approach, to ensure resident's independence and dignity with consideration to staff and budgetary limitations. • To ensure the Facility is in compliance with the Nursing Home Act and the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Program Standards Manual. • To be accountable to the Officers of the Governing Body, for the operation of the Long Term Care Facility. QUALIFICATIONS: • Completion of the Canadian Hospital Associations' Long Term Care Organization and the Management Course or equivalent. • Must have a current Administrators License from the Ontario Nursing Home Association and must keep the Administrator's License current and in good standing. • Must have proven administrative experience in the retirement/long term care industry. This includes skills of gerontology, supervision, budgeting, marketing/sales, labour relations and a thorough awareness of applicable legislation. • Must possess good written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively supervise the activities of subordinates. • Computer skills are an asset. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Developing and maintaining effective Continuous Quality Improvement and Safety Programs in compliance with legislative guidelines. • Ensuring levels of care to achieve and maintain at least a 3-year Accreditation level or the equivalent. • Participating in the development of the facility annual operating and capital budgets and ensures conformance to approved budgets on an on-going basis. • Selecting, orienting and monitoring the performance of subordinate departmental managers, including proposals for job description changes. • Liaising with hospital, medical staff, community and health care disciplines to ensure that the most effective level of support is provided, and supervises such support services. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: • Two years administration experience in long-term care or retirement. | |
