ATIP Officer Statement of Work: The work involves the review of documents in response to requests made to CIC under the Access to Information and Privacy Acts. This involves a « line by line » review of documents and the appropriate application of the legislation. This includes: • Organizing work to ensure that legislated deadlines are met • The recommendation of release of exemption/severing of data and documents • Identifying and completing required consultations (within CIC, other departments, other governments, private sector organizations) • Liaison with requester to obtain clarification if request is missing vital information or is too broadly worded • Preparation of letters regarding consultation, fees, extension, release and exemption for the signature of a senior officer • Preparing “heads up” files to inform senior management of the impending release of sensitive information • Dealing with complaints made to the Office of the Information Commissioner. • Monitoring the progress of the files and ensuring that atipflow is continuously /properly updated to reflect the last actions taken • Responding to public inquiries and providing ATIP policy advice to ATIP employees, offices of primary interest, and senior management at CIC with respect to complex cases and issues. • Files are to be prepared using atip image, with appropriate sections marked for release, exemption or exclusion in accordance with the Acts. Appropriate release/exemption letters are to be included with the file. • The work will involve provision of policy advice and guidance when requested. • Necessary Qualifications (to be reflected under the CV with highlights) • SECRET security clearance is necessary • Knowledge of and experience working with ATIP Image and ATIP flow is necessary • Experience working with CIC ATIP files is necessary. • In-depth experience with the analysis and processing of ATIP requests • In-depth knowledge of the Access to Information and Privacy Acts • Up-dated References (3) to be provided upon request: accurate name/title/institution/telephone # • if qualified, the selected candidate will be informed in due course in order to inform his references in advance of a forthcoming reference check. • Asset Qualifications: • More than five years experience working with ATIP. • More than one year’s experience working with CIC ATIP files.
