Senior Commercial Network Engineer with P.Eng or working towards Senior Commercial Network Engineer working towards or have P.Eng POSITION SUMMARY In accordance with established policies, procedures and guidelines, provides team lead role for technical solutions, provisioning guidance and directions to fulfill the Wide Area Data Networking Solutions, Internet Delivery, Voice, Value added service requirements for Commercial & Business Enterprises, Municipalities, Universities, Schools, Hospitals and other sectors in network planning, engineering design, feasibility and implementation of solutions. Work is based on the current network infrastructure, architectural and bandwidth requirements while minimizing costs, maximizing efficiencies, insuring scalability and configuration of policies/ support processes to Engineering and technical operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for understanding and consolidating the engineering and service requirements of Business/Enterprise customers for Managed solutions for Data, Internet and Value added services delivery on the overall Network Architecture, Design, Network planning , feasibility, cost modeling, performance planning, vendor management, development and documentation of processes to support growth and operations of the data networking solutions. 2. Provides technical expertise on networking solutions based on the current technologies in the network and recommends integration of new technologies as applicable for maximum efficiencies. 3. Developing policies, processes and procedures for coordination with other departments such as Network Monitoring, Fibre Construction and planning, HFC engineering for aggregation of requirements, costs for integration, implementation and maintenance of the network solution. 4. Take on a team lead role for network solutions closely with the sales/marketing/network engineering team as well as the internal customers, when applicable. 5. Prepare project proposals, address RFPs based on the marketing input and using appropriate technology to deliver cost effective solutions to the end customers using Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, IP/Transport/Optical/Wireless network engineering, capacity allocation, planning, technology evaluation, testing and integration with operating network. 6. Will lead all Commercial/Enterprise Data Networking Solutions and Service project implementations, including the analysis and integration of intra-inter departmental requirements. Also responsible for new projects and release of new network implementations. 7. Forecasts and reserves fibres required along new and existing fibre runs including requirements for cable plant and wireless transmission.
