Intermediate .NET Enterprise Web Portal Developer

“Full-Time or Long-Term Contract”

In order to qualify for this role, you must have 5-7 years of experience working within a Microsoft development environment with at least 3 years focused on .NET web application and portal development. You must have experience with full-lifecycle development with an Enterprise scope. Successful candidates will be required to write a Technical Proficiency Test.


The primary role of the Intermediate .NET Enterprise Web Portal Developer is to develop and integrate applications within a web and portal environment. The incumbent writes and implements test and deployment procedures and scripts, maintaining an efficient development environment, and assisting with optimizing version control and executable release procedures.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Work as an integral part of the team developing the internal and external portal system, with responsibilities for:
 Developing user interface, business-logic, data access layer and integration components
 Developing database schemas and scripts
 Developing and executing unit and system tests
 Release, change and configuration management
 Identify opportunities for architectural enhancements and toolkit integration
• Facilitate problem identification, troubleshooting, resolution identification and solution implementation.
• Other duties and assignments as required.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Education and Industry Knowledge
• University Degree in Computer Science, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in software development which includes significant business logic and integration development on enterprise applications.
• Strong working knowledge of web n-tier distributed- and service-oriented applications and their development and integration.

Technical Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word).
• Must have experience with the following: Microsoft .NET framework (ver 1.1, 2.0, 3.x), ASP.NET (ver 1.1, 2.0, 3.x), C# (preferred), VB.NET, Microsoft SQL Server (2008, 2005, 2000), Visual Studio (2008, 2005, 2003), Web Services, BizTalk (2009, 2006)
• Must have experience with the following technologies: JavaScript, CSS, ADO.NET, XML.NET, SOAP, AJAX
• Experience with Content and Portal Management systems, including SharePoint Portal Server, Content Management Server and DotNetNuke (ver 4.X and above).
• Proven web presentation development experience including working experience with third-party web control libraries such as Infragistics (NetAdvantage).
• Experience with Enterprise Application Integration and Business-to-Business integration (via EDI).
• Strong formal software development methodology experience (design, develop, unit test, deploy, versioned release and operational management).
• Prefer candidates with Transportation Management, Supply Chain, Distribution Management and/or ERP systems experience.
