Security Manager

Contract senior position in the mining sector in the Democratic Rep of the Congo.
Salary up to 160US$K per annum (tax free) plus travel and benefits, depending on skills and experience.

Reports To: Director CSR: Community, Security, PR
Supervises: Security structure and all security contractors

This is a married status position. Also a residential position as opposed to a fly-in-fly-out position. Ample leave is provided for with a travelling allowance paid per annum in addition to the annual package specified.

ROLE PURPOSE: Manage security service within an integrated structure targeting a community policing system.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• English and French (read, write & speak) speaker and mining industry experience ESSENTIAL. No applications will be considered if these criteria are not met.
• EX Police force or Military background (Sous-Off or Officer) or an OPJ (Officier de Police judiciaire – Legal investigator)
• Mining industry experience essential.
• Commandment experience of minimum 3 years,
• Security training experience,
• Judicial, legal principles knowledge, (code Napoleon)
• Be able to manage a security service on a community policing strategy
• Good Commandment skill and be open to the external security operators
• Good abilities of analyse and initiative,
• Good abilities to implement relationships with authorities and local people,
• Ability to stay calm and focused in challenging situations
• Married status position

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Guarantee a 24h/24 security coverage for infrastructures and workers:
• Control and guarantee the minimum logistic and workforce to secure the company,
• Control and take the adequate action in regard of all reports received by the operational staff,
• Put in place any deployment (police, contractors) or measures to preserve the company from any threat

2. Implement and update the security/emergency plan (Risks assessments)
• Guarantee relationships with other Security Managers, local and provincial authorities,
• Assess all risks or threat via community permanencies and the workforce,
• Coordinate Security with all other services

3. Implement all security strategy in regard of Community issues
• Work in coordination with Public relation and Community project services to implement and manage preventively any social conflict (artisanal minors…)

4. Implement and control all operations/investigations in regard of the judicial process and the IFC standards
• Manage and control any security or investigation operation on field as to respect the legal aspect and the human rights voluntary principles
