| Senior IT MANAGER in High Growth Retail Company DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Head Office based in Toronto, Canada _________________________________________________ JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, directs the Information Technology requirements of the company to ensure that the systems and business processes offer an infrastructure that will allow all company business units the un-inhibited environment within which they can achieve their goals through the conscientious application of company standards, and ultimately to achieve the company’s mission statement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Initiates, develops and maintains relationships within the technology team including vendors, 3rd party and company personnel and holds full accountability to ensure all standards of systems management are followed to the best service levels possible; · Fosters communication within all parties involved in the systems maintenance and day to day operations of the computer systems, to ensure effective and efficient systems and processes are maintained; · Plans, organizes, directs and controls all aspects relating to the computer systems and related 3rd party relationships with potential and actual system vendors; · Strong Program and Project Management skills · Ensures 3rd party vendors have the expertise to provide the most cost effective methods of meeting our technical expectations in any technology related project; · Implementation and management of all electronic security systems protocols; · Analyses, troubleshoots, accounts for, reports on and resolves, either internal or externally: any technical issue that hinders any member of any business unit; · Negotiates terms of supplier compliance including Service Level Agreements; · Promotes open communication and teamwork; · Understands and manages with the goal to achieve and surpass company financial objectives; · Promotes the Company House Philosophy; · Promotes IT Policy adherence and updates the policy as required; · Performs other related duties as required. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: · 5-7 years of technology management experience with proven leadership ability; · Able to quickly understand business objectives and align technology tools to assist in the business goals; · Strategic thinker related to all aspects of business systems; · Able to maintain smooth operations through the ability to lead, and function as part of a cohesive team; · Strong controlling skills to manage budgets and schedules; · Strong hands-on technical skills are essential; · Strategic development of IT infrastructure and systems to support the growing business needs; · Thinking in a disciplined and logical manner; · Managing a variety of assignments at the same time; · Basic knowledge of general accounting principles and practices; · Committed to 100% accuracy; · Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy; · High energy level with a strong work ethic; · Understanding and identification with the basic goals of the company; · Strong sense of urgency in dealing with business and staff needs; · Excellent organizational skills to prioritize workload in order to achieve results in a constantly changing environment; · Making good use of internal resources including personnel, supplies and systems; · Leadership and interpersonal skills to relate to the users and educate them in the advantages of IT and enlist their cooperation in the implementation of new applications; · Strong analytical skills. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: It is critical that any candidate applying for this role, have experiences in POS, and also in eCOMMERCE based solutions, knowledge of AS 400 is also key as the G/L runs in an AS400 environment. · eCommerce Knowledge (ATG preferred experience) – · iSeries (AS400) exposure · Windows Server and workstation knowledge · POS systems knowledge · Basic SQL/Query knowledge · Basic programming knowledge/program flow knowledge · UNIX/Linux exposure/awareness · Microsoft Exchange administration · Networking equipment configuration experience · Experience with VPN/WAN/LAN infrastructures KEY FUNCTIONS: · Understand and embrace the demands of a high-energy retailer. · Strategic planning, directing and controlling all aspects of IT systems · Hands-on training and user interaction for day to day activities ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS – Summary on Culture: · An absorbing job, not 9-5.
