Civil Technologist - Earthworks Position Title: Intermediate / Senior CADD Technician / Technologist Location: Mississauga, ON *This is a contract to cover a mat leave - it could lead to full time RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicant will be responsible for the following: · Preparation of civil engineering design details and site plan drawings by utilizing AutoCAD with Land Development Desktop (LDD) module; · Following project instructions and drafting QA standards; · Assisting project engineers with a variety of activities relating to the planning, design, tendering and construction of civil infrastructures including dams, landfills, hydraulic structures and road designs; and, · Quantity take-offs and 3D volume calculations. QUALIFICATIONS: We are seeking an applicant with strong computer aided design and drafting capabilities using AutoCAD with the LDD module. Experience with graphics packages such as CorelDraw, gINT or SURPAC would be an asset. GIS skills and experience will be viewed favourably. Minimum of 2+ years of experience is required. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, able to work independently given appropriate guidance in a multi-disciplinary team environment, and able to prioritize multiple tasks. Attention to detail is critical along with ability to follow directions and communicate effectively.
