Industrial Engineering Technologist / Continuous Improvement Co-Ordinator



As a leader in the plastics industry we are seeking an Industrial Engineering Technologist to fill the role as our Continuous Improvement Co-Ordinator.



The position is a liaison between engineering and workers to ensure that the product is manufactured in the most effective way with ultimate quality.



Nature of Position:

Help to develop, implement and support the vision, mission, goals and action plans for our lean manufacturing philosophy.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Organize and provide training and education in lean philosophy to all company departments

· Facilitate change management throughout various stages of our lean journey so that continuous improvement and team work become the standard

· Work with employees to identify and develop continuous improvement strategies that will drive operational excellence, increased capacity and cost reductions

· Conduct assessments of manufacturing operations to provide focused improvement opportunities to increase production efficiencies, eliminate waste, reduce inventory, reduce lead times and increase quality

· Facilitate and coach employees to provide solutions, optimize resources and monitor progress

· Develop benchmarks, measurements, quantifiable benefits and track progress

· Lead cross functional teams to implement continuous flow manufacturing and pull systems, 5S improvement, standard work, setup reductions, value stream mapping to identify and eminate waste

Build knowledge of lean philosophy and lean tools through continuing education from training programs, plant visits and dialogue with other lean facilitators’ from other lean companies



Requirements and Specifications

· Engineering Technologist or equivalent diploma, with 3 years experience in lean manufacturing

· thorough understanding and extensive exposure to lean principles

· experience in coaching and training of lean principles and continuous process improvement

· ability to develop credibility with employees and management

· strong time management, multi-tasking and all round communication skills

· enthusiastic and energetic promoter of lean philosophy

· strategic thinker

· excellent computer skills, experience in giving power point presentations
