| Intermediate Web Deveoper Qualifications: Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, DHTML, JavaScript (or JQuery), CSS; Understanding of OOP, modular architecture, database design concepts, SQL optimization and SEO; Develop scalable publishing workflows to operate within organic social networks of users; Must be a positive, forward-thinker with a high degree for attention to detail, creativity and collaboration. Responsibilities: Build data exchanges between internet-facing data sources and search engines; Develop feature functionality; Support strong reuse and maintenance principles over style, script and code libraries; Work within a team to assess interface usability in web designs, to assess maintainability, security, scalability goals as they pertain to software requirements and quality-delivery attributes. Application Requirements: Portfolio: links to successfully developed online projects with descriptions of individual role/contribution to projects, fragments* of PHP, HTML, JavaScript or jQuery code (for any previously developed or sample project). *Note that these samples will be used to evaluate code-writing skills, and therefore do not need to be functioning units or come from the same project. Additional Assets: Experience and/or interest in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Bioscience; some knowledge and training in these areas would be an asset; | |
