Description: The purpose of this role is to complete detailed design with assistance from Senior Engineering Personnel. The incumbent will execute moderate to complex level designs as assigned. Be a team member and as required lead projects. Work as a valued team member of Central Engineering and the various project teams. Be knowledgeable in Engineering Standards, procedures and processes. Perform moderately complex calculations, prepare and check detail design drawings associated with discipline of proficiency. Provide guidance and support to junior members of the Central Engineering Team. Coordinate projects up to $500,000 while controlling deliverables, cost and schedule. This role directly reports to the Supervising Engineer. Position Requirements: • Must work with area people, operations, and maintenance to ensure that intent of work is met. • Must be knowledgeable and proficient with AUTOCADD or MICROSTATION cadd software and MS Office software programs. • Must be able to prepare all various types of paperwork associated with design tasks including requisitions, schedules, estimates specifications but will look for direction where needed. • Incumbent can be assigned to specific tasks as required. Incumbent cannot take engineering responsibility for work that by law/code requires the seal of a qualified engineer. Educational/Experience Requirements: • Graduate Technologist 5 - 8 years of design experience in required discipline Or • Equivalent years of applicable experience At Vale Inco, we are looking for candidates who meet a specific and unique skill set.
