Software Development Manager/Team Lead Software Development Manager/Team Lead Location: Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada Opportunity: As an experienced leader you will be responsible for managing and motivating a team of Software Developers and Engineers working on-site at our client’s office in Woodbridge, Ontario. As a person who is passionate about technology and rolling up their sleeves to get involved you will help your teams solve problems, conduct code reviews, remove roadblocks and bestow technical leadership. Some of the specific responsibilities include: • Technical and people management responsibilities for both team leads and individual contributors • Provide Technical Leadership in the areas of: o Web Design o Online Application Design o Systems Performance Engineering & Design o Software Development Methodologies o Architectural Design & Review • Project Status Update reports to senior management • Hiring and building a team of the best and brightest developers • Working with key stakeholders to prioritize requirements • Allocating and assigning resources as needed to deliver projects on time Requirements: • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent • Minimum 7 years of Management and Dev experience (at least 2-3 years in a senior management role) • Strong Web Design experience • Architectural Design experience • Experience with Scrum Master and other software development methodologies • Experience managing large scale software development projects • Demonstrated experience managing, coaching and directing large teams • Ability to work hands-on doing code reviews, reviewing design documents • Previous Microsoft or Open Source experience would be an asset • Development experience using Java, C#, PHP, HTML, MySQL, and/or PostgreSQL • Demonstrated ability for continuously learning, creativity, and problem-solving • Demonstrated strategic and tactical planning capabilities, as well as the ability to prioritize effectively • MMO and game development as a define asset. • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment • Individuals interested in gaming will be given added consideration • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills • Highly organized, motivated, and execution-oriented, hard working & willing to learn Background: The Band of Coders is a crack team of programmers and system architects that creates business applications, web applications, and front-end interfaces.
